Barrington, NH – Yvette M Burns, 96, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2024, 3 weeks short of her 97th birthday at her home surrounded by family.
Yvette was born in Rochester, NH on April 4, 1927, daughter of Wilfred and Merilda Huppe. She was predeceased by her siblings Armand, Irene, Rita, Elliette, and Jeanette, son-in-law Kenneth Butler, and grandson Michael Bray. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years George Burns of Barrington, daughter Rita Butler of Barrington, sons Roy Goulet and wife Mary of Concord, NH and Richard Goulet and wife Glenna of South Portland, Maine, step-daughter Donna Armstrong and husband Jim of Milton, NH, step-son Doug Burns and partner Sheila of Rochester, NH, sister Alice Alimi, brother Robert Huppe and wife Henrietta, and numerous grandchildren, especially Stacey Bray who provided special care for her during her time of illness. There were also many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Yvette was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Rochester, NH. She was a long-time employee of General Electric in Somersworth, NH where she began her career in the factory and spent her later years working in the office. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, reading, loved being with family, and camping in northern NH with family and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 25, at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Lee, NH, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington, NH.
