Somersworth: Bill McBride, 82, of Maple Street passed away on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 with loving care and support at the Edgewood Center in Portsmouth. Billie was born on September 2nd, 1935 in Wolfboro; son of Frank P. McBride and Helen Irene McHugh. He served in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1961, at Parris Island, Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, the Philippines Susbic Bay, and in Japan at Saserbo. Bill retired from GE in Somersworth after 37 years in 1996, where he met his wife Phyllis (Tillie) Sprague, now deceased. Survived by her children Dale Sprague, Kathie Sama, and Denise Crowley. Bill also leaves six children from his wife Nancy Lee Danis of Pittsfield, now deceased; Shawn McBride, Tammy Byrne, and Michael McBride, and step children Patti Young, Gayle Cramer, and Joni Young, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill also leaves a sister Corinne “Honey” Hooper of Sanbornville and his brother Jimmy McBride of Rochester. Bill loved his dog Kane so very much, his buddies in the Marine Core League with whom he was a Pease Greeter, and enjoyed helping friends with rides to appointments and to work.
