Obituary for William H. Landry Mr.

Lebanon, ME: William “Bill” H. Landry, 92, of Briarwood Rd., passed away at his residence on Tues. April 18, 2012 after a period of declining health. Bill was born on Feb. 13, 1920 in Somerville, MA; the son of William H. and Elsie (Decoste) Landry, Sr. He graduated from Somerville Vocational School as a mechanic. He began at the LeBert Brothers Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Malden, MA; continuing on and becoming a Master Mechanic for Lincoln Mercury; retiring from McFee Lincoln-Mercury in League City, TX. Bill served our country proudly in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 82nd Air Engineer Squadron during World War II. As an RC Hobbyist, he enjoyed building, flying and sailing Radio Control model airplanes and boats. He was a member of the American Model Association and Strawberry Patch RC Pilots in Sanford, ME; also a member and an instructor for the Power Squadron of League City, TX. Bill owned and flew his own Cesna 150 out of Hanscom Airforce Base in Lexington, MA. Bill also enjoyed waterskiing, snow skiing and sailing his Hobie Cat sailboat in Half Moon Pond in Barnstead, NH. Bill’s family would like to thank his loving caretaker, Diana Clark and his Beacon Hospice Nurse, Karen Hayes-Peterson and Aide, Shirley Almquist. Bill is survived by his daughter, Carole Stacewicz and her husband, Michael of Berwick, ME; his grandchildren, Michael Stacewicz of Lebanon, ME, William “Bill” Stacewicz of Alfred, ME and Kimberly “Kymmi” Stacewicz of Berwick, ME; his great grandchildren, Jayde Stacewicz from Berwick, ME and Spencer Stacewicz of Somersworth, NH and many cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and all of his close RC Model Flyers. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wife of 26 years, Dorothy Kelly; his brothers, Arthur Landry and Richard “Dickie” Landry and his sister, Helen Ouellette. Family flowers requested only, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to Beacon Hospice, 42 Brickyard Court, York, ME 03909 or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Friends and family may call from 12:00-1:00pm on Sat. April 28, 2012 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH. A memorial service will be held immediately after at 1:00pm with Fr. John Skehan, Parish of the Ascension of the Lord in Berwick, ME, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Mt.
