Obituary for Walter Joseph Tomczyk

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Walter Joseph Tomczyk. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world peacefully on September 9th at the age of 76. Born April 20th, 1947; in Germany to parents Michael and Barbara he immigrated to the United States in 1956 settling in Dorchester, MA before relocating to their family farm in Chichester, NH with his parents and siblings. He honorably served his country in the Army overseas in Vietnam.

He was a master carpenter and loyal member of the Northern New England Carpenters Union Local 352 since 1979 stationed at the Seabrook Power Plant for over 25 years. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy and happiness to Walter. He loved days at home with family, barbecuing even in Winter, trips to ocean and lakes, playing with the grandkids, watching football, working in his beloved garden and became a voracious reader later in life.

His ultimate joy was his family. Married for fifty-two years to the love of his life Eileen. Together they raised five loving children that he was extremely proud of, though nothing could compare to the love he had for his seven grandchildren. Walter was their teacher, best friend and playmate all in one.

Walter is survived by his loving wife Eileen of Dover, his children; Gregory and his wife Isabella of Portland, Oregon, Daniel and his wife Christine of Sandwich, MA, Melina and her husband John of Topsfield, MA, Lisa and her husband Sean of Marlboro, MA, Laura of Dover, and his grandchildren; Annabelle, Lillian, Paxton, Olivia, Harlow, Joseph and Calvin.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Walter on Saturday, September 16, 2023; with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 and a service of remembrance at 11:00am in the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home 655 Central Ave. Dover, NH
