Obituary for Walter Eliott Nelson Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter E. Nelson Jr, of Barrington, NH. Walter passed away on April 16, 2023, at the age of 80.
Walter was born in Hartford, CT, on April 13, 1943, to Walter E. Nelson Sr. and Inez Nelson. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and earned a law degree from Temple University after spending one year in Vietnam. Walter went on to become a highly respected attorney in Philadelphia and Moorestown, NJ.
In 2001, Walter semi-retired and moved to Barrington, NH, where he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, the Boston Red Sox and Tom Brady. Walter was a fierce defender of his family, and his family will always remember him as their greatest fan.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Pat Nelson, his four children, Scott, Sandi, Brooks and Mark, his three daughters-in-law Michelle, Louise and Quincy, and his five grandchildren, Callie, Emma, Kate, Gabe and Kai. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, as well as all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private service will be held in Walter's honor for his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Walter's memory.
