Obituary for Valerie Ann Twombly
Valerie Ann Twombly, 65, of Bow Lake, Strafford, N.H. died June 22, 2022.
Val Twombly, daughter of William and Shirley Brown Twombly of Bow Lake, Strafford, N.H. passed away June 22 at Concord Hospital after a long illness. She is survived by her partner, Keith Jock, of Northwood, N.H., her son, Keith Jock, Jr. and beloved granddaughter, Lily Jock, four siblings, sister Terry Avery of Rochester, N.H., brothers, William of Algona, WA. and Stephen of Strafford, N.H., and sister Cyndi Twombly of Barrington, N.H., aunts Marion Spencer of Canterbury, N.H, Carol Ownby of Springfield, Mo. and JoAnn Brown of Strafford, N.H., eight nieces and nephews, and twenty-three first cousins.
She was a graduate of Spaulding High School, class of 1975. She then graduated from UNH with a BA in studio arts. Valerie worked as a graphic designer and later as a web designer/manager for multiple businesses in the seacoast area.
She loved growing up on the family farms, riding her grandfather’s dairy cows as though they were horses, hanging with friends at Bow Lake, painting local landscapes, spending time with the aunts and attending family reunions. Later in life, she enjoyed working and being part of the Northwood Library and showing off her granddaughter, Lily.
Hopefully, she will be visiting with her Uncle Carl, enjoying the late summer afternoon by the garden fence. Instead of weeding or mowing, they will be debating who has the larger tomato yield; and once again she will hold her beloved pets from her youth; a large tabby named Gordon, a feisty companion for nineteen years and Ziggy, a beautiful Irish setter, who shared the same vibrant red flowing locks as Valerie.
Go in peace Val. You will be greatly missed by your friends and family.
Funeral arrangements include a cemetery side service on August 6, at 11 am at Center Strafford Cemetery on Route 126, Center Strafford, N.H. A 'Celebration of Life’ will follow; 12-3 pm at the Bow Lake Grange Hall., Bow Lake, Strafford, N.H.
