Obituary for Thomas Roberts Wells Jr.

Thomas Roberts “Rob” Wells, Jr. With sadness Rob’s family announces that he passed on Oct. 9, 2018, of heart complications. Rob was born in Valley Stream, L.I., N.Y. on Sept. 20, 1949; the son of the late Thomas R. & Frances H. (Harding) Wells. He grew up in Dover, NH and attended Dover High School and UNH. He was an avid reader and loved his travels to Europe, especially England, Italy and Greece. Rob was in the restaurant business in southern Maine for many years and co-owned the Cape Neddick Inn, Me. For 18 years. Rob’s love of history then led him to begin an antiques and collectibles business. He was constantly looking for treasures at yard sales and was a vendor at several antique shows. The family had just enjoyed a wonderful 69th birthday celebration with him. The stories he told were always informative, sprinkled with humor and wit. He is survived by his four sisters: Dianne Morrison and husband Brian of Campton NH, Suzanne Roux of Newmarket NH, Barbara Marmen of Eliot ME, and Linda Spencer and husband Joe of Far Hills NJ. He had 2 nieces Kimberley Economos and Courtney Cuykendall and husband Josh, 2 nephews Derek Spencer and Jeremy Roux and wife Alison; plus 6 great-nieces and nephews, Logan and Marin Smith, Jameson, Amelia, Eleanor and Zelda. He will also be dearly missed by his close friend, JT. Per Rob’s wishes the family will not be having a public ceremony. A memorial gathering may take place at a later date. We will all miss him so. Arrangements are under the direction of Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH; to sign our online guestbook, please go to www.purdyfuneralservice.com
