Obituary for Therese Tremblay (Bourque)

Dover – Therese (Bourque) Tremblay died October 26, 2021, at the age of 94.
Born in 1926 to the late Marie (Bellefeville) Bourque and John Bourque, Therese graduated from St. Edmond’s School in Manchester in 1941 and from Goffstown High School in 1945.
She was remembered this way in the Goffstown High School yearbook: “Behind those sparkling eyes is hidden a mischievous gleam which pops up anywhere or anytime. If your ruler is missing, Terry must be around. Her brilliant red hair explains her love for liveliness.”
One of ten children, Therese married Norman A. Tremblay in 1947. A military spouse, she lived at Army posts across the U.S., and in the Panama Canal Zone and Germany over 30 years.
Therese had a diverse work career. After working at her father’s tailor shop, she was an operating room technician at Notre Dame Hospital, now Catholic Medical Center. While in Germany, she worked for a rental and collection agency. Upon returning to the U.S., she was employed by Sears before working for and retiring from the U.S. Navy as a civilian employee. She then worked for a food chain distributor and later joined the U.S. Postal Service as an assistant post-mistress.
Among her hobbies were travel, folk art, exploring good eateries and doing benevolent work for senior citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman. She is survived by her children: Roger Tremblay of Rowley, Mass.; Norman P. Tremblay and wife Wendi of Barrington; Diane Reinert and husband Bob of Nottingham; Denise Mayfield of North Berwick, Maine; and Richard Tremblay and wife Carolyn of Lee; a sister, Cecile Juneau; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
