Obituary for Sock Hiang "Peggy" Basch
Sock Hiang “Peggy” Basch, 88, formerly of 75 Whitman St, Stow MA passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023.
Born on February 14, 1935 in Singapore, the daughter of Tay Eoo Chye and Bek Siew Kheng, she was the 3rd oldest in a big family with 9 brothers and sisters. She was a teacher for the deaf and blind and left Singapore to work at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown MA. Later in life, she was a terrific cook and sold her famous eggrolls at Applefield Farm in Stow.
She is survived by her husband Bert Basch of 53 years and two sons, Diederik and Nicholas, and daughter-in-law, Meida Cheng Basch.
