Strafford: Ruth Elizabeth Steeves, 91, of Bow Lake Estates, passed away on Fri., May 25, 2012 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. Ruth was born on Feb. 11, 1921 in Providence, RI; the daughter of Waldo L and Nina B (MacDonald) Appleby. She was raised in Franklin, MA. Ruth, at the age of 21, married David W Steeves on June 28, 1942; they resided in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada for 5 years and Wrentham, MA. Later Ruth moved to Plainville, MA and Strafford, NH. Ruth and David owned and operated Green Acres Turkey Farm in Wrentham, MA. Ruth did volunteer work at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA and was a member of the Strafford Garden Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. Ruth is survived by her children, Gail Roberts, of Strafford; Kathy Steeves of Northwood and Lori Mousseau of Newton Corner, MA; her 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, David W. Steeves in Oct., 1984; her daughters, Dawn Palmucci, and Beth Killian.
