Ruth Kent, formerly of Berkley Heights, NJ passed on away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her home in Barrington, NH on May 23,2019 after a long courageous battle with Dementia. Ruth grew up and attended schools in New Providence, NJ. She was a longtime employee of Overlook Hospital. Ruth was an active member of the United Methodist Church in New Providence. Ruth was beloved by many and she will be greatly missed. Ruth loved all things nautical, penguins, fleur-de-lys and of course – pumpkins! She is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Mabel Reichenbach and her sister Lois Tone. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Kent; her two daughters, Amy Pérez and Paula Kent and five grandchildren. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at her home in Barrington, NH on a date to be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Ruth’s name to Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut – a special place for Ruth where she enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren, visiting all the marine life - but especially the penguins.
