Dover: Robert H. Smith, Jr., 74, of Bellamy Road, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Robert was born on November 6, 1943 in Kittery, ME; the son of Alice (Bond) and Robert H. Smith, Sr. Robert loved fishing and camping. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his time with his family. Robert served our country proudly in the US Army, serving in Vietnam, 25th Infantry Division. He was a lifetime member of the DAV, a member of the American Legion of Rollinsford, also a long time member of the Dover Elks. He had worked at Moore Business Forms for many years as a foreman until he retired. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosalita (Hashem) Smith; his daughters, Donna Houle and her husband, Craig of Milton and Robin Smith and her husband, Harry Proulx of Rochester; his son Robert H. Smith, III and wife Bridget of Dover; his sisters, Priscilla Lent, Patricia Dowalibly, and Dixie Jacques; his 8 grandchildren; Daniel, Matthew, Amanda, Adam, Allison, Ashley, Adrienne and Robert IV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Harold Smith and sisters, Linda Jewell and Sally Smith. Friends and family may call from 5-6:00pm on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH; with a service to immediately follow at 6:00pm with Deacon Robert Gagnon, officiating.
