Obituary for Robert E. Seaver Mr.

DOVER - Robert Edward Seaver, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 surrounded by love. Robert was born October 2nd, 1930 to Donald and Annette (Vachon) Seaver in Dover, New Hampshire, the oldest of 8 children. He left high school early to join the U.S. Navy in 1948 where he served proudly in the Korean Conflict. During his 6 year tenure he served and participated in the Battle of Inchon, was a decorated veteran, and was proud to serve in the Honor guard for General Mark Clark. Upon discharge, he met and married his beautiful wife Christine (Pacitto) Seaver who passed away in 2008. Robert worked at First National and the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and then Postmaster of Northwood and Barrington, NH retiring in 1986. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed playing golf, fishing with his brothers, and day trips to Foxwoods. Robert is survived by his daughter Dierdre Christine Estes, sons Paul and his wife (Penny), Michael and his wife (Bryana), grandchildren, Craig and Christopher Estes, Christian, Sydney, Hannah, Kyle, Jasmine, Anne and Todd Seaver and 3 great grandchildren Jackson, Grady and Daylyn Estes. He is also survived by 5 sisters, Edna Hamel, Elaine Burns, Janet Quisumbing, Jeanne Therrien and Dorothy Buell. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his son Robert D. Seaver and his brothers Ronald and George. Robert was a charitable man who supported the Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled Veterans, the VFW and St Jude’s Hospital. In his honor and in lieu of flowers contributions to these organizations in his memory would be appreciated. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 8th at 10 – 11 a.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave. Dover, NH, with a Catholic Service immediately following. After a brief graveside service at St. Charles Cemetery, family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life at the Oaks Country Club in Somersworth.
