Somersworth - Richard D. Rhodes, Jr., of Lil Nor Avenue passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his residence with his wife and sons by his side. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 27th at the Westmoreland United Church, 9 South Village Common, Westmoreland, NH with Reverend Donna V. Gage officiating. Immediately following committal at the South Village Cemetery, there will a reception celebrating Dick’s life in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church. Richard was born in Keene, NH, October 27, 1940; the son of the late Richard D. Sr. and the late Dorothy (Rogers) Rhodes. Richard graduated from Walpole High school in 1956, received his BA in Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University in 1963 and his MBA from the University of NH in 1973. He became a registered Patent Agent with the USTPO in 2003. He has been employed with Grossman, Tucker, Perreault and Pfleger, PLLC (Manchester, NH) since 2002 as a patent agent and previously worked for Textron Automotive Co. for 35 years directing and managing product and process development, quality technology, advanced engineering and intellectual property management. Dick was awarded 41 patents. He is a past member to numerous professional engineering and manufacturing affiliations. Dick is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon (Grey) Rhodes and his sons, Scott and his wife Luanne; Brian and his wife Ann Marie and Richard (DJ) and his wife Renee; his five grandchildren Emma, Sadie, Carter, Madeline and Joshua.
