Obituary for Richard W Lunt
DOVER: Richard “Dick” W. Lunt, 78, of Nantucket Court, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Richard was born on December 30, 1944; the son of Albert and Dorothy (Friars) Lunt.
Graduated from Dover High School in Class of 1962, and University of NH in 1967 as an Electrical Engineer.
He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1994.
Richard was a great lover of music, especially jazz. He enjoyed classic movies. He spent many summers volunteering as an amateur archeologist with various groups, was a long-standing member of the NH Archeology Society and the Maine Archeology Society. Contributed and worked as a volunteer for the Old Berwick Historical Society. He enjoyed going to flea markets, searching for fishing lures, DVDs, books etc., because you can never have too many.
Richard was predeceased by both his parents, Dorothy (Friars) & Albert Lunt.
Richard is survived by his brother, Brian Lunt (Theresa Lunt) of Dover; nephew, Jason Lunt (Quenby Jaus) of Somersworth; Neice, Kristen Lunt of Dover; Great Neice, Jacey Rogers (Madeline Carlson) and Elsa Rogers of Dover; Great Nephew, Everett Lunt of Somersworth.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, Sept. 5th, 2023 from 10:00 am-11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Wiggin Purdy McCooey Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH 03820, with Rev.
