Obituary for Richard Allen Cullen
Dover, New Hampshire: Richard Allen Cullen, 79 years of age, of Preble Street passed away on the 25th day of May in 2022 at Birch Healthcare Center with his family by his side.
He was born on August 31st,1942 in Dover, NH; the son of William A. and Glenna Marston Cullen.
Richard served his country in the army as a military policeman while stationed in Germany. He also served his country as a civilian employee at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the Department of Navy where he retired. He then went on to be a security guard for many years. He will be remembered as a compassionate person who was a good husband, great father and steadfast friend.
Richard is survived by his spouse of 43 years, Pamela Grovo; son John and his wife Erin of Rochester; sister Cindy; two grandchildren Wesley and Jonah; and many, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his son William M. , sister Julie and brothers Edward and William E.
Flowers are welcome but donations are encouraged instead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Richard to Cornerstone Visiting Nurses at 178 Farmington Rd, Rochester, NH 03867 and Pope Memorial Humane Society at 221 County Farm Rd, Dover, NH 03820.
A Celebration of Richard's life will be held from 10 to 12 on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at the Purdy Funeral Home on 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Scott Triall at 12:00pm (Noon). The graveside service with military honors will immediately follow at Pine Hill Cemetery located at 131 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.
