Dover: Rachel Alice Pelczar, 74, of Maplewood Ave., passed away on Tues., Nov. 15, 2011 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA. Rachel was born on Mar. 28, 1937 in Laconia, NH; the daughter of Irénee and Yvonne (Sevigny) Martel. She was a lifelong resident of Dover and a member of St. Charles Church. Rachel was a bookkeeper then a full time mom raising her children. In her early retirement years, she returned to part time work at Bill Dube then took a full retirement in 2005. Rachel was also a very active member of the church. Rachel’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Rachel is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alden “Butch” Pelczar; her six children, Douglas, Michael and his wife, Denise (Doyon) Pelczar; Karen and her husband, Jeff Labrecque, Ann and her husband, Kent Cassidy, Jane Pullo and Paula and her husband, Joel Degenaars; her nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, Emily, Alex, Hannah, Arianna, Derek, MJ and Katilyn; her eight brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rachel’s name to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 in the Parish of the Assumption at St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut Street, Dover, NH 03820, with Deacon Robert Gagnon, officiating.
