Barrington: Paul F. Fernald; son of Ruth and Langdon Fernald, passed away on Wed., August, 8, 2012 at The Inn At Deerfield at the age of 90. Paul was liked by all who met him and had a greatly infectious smile and wave. He was in the Merchant Marines during WWII then upon return worked on a local farm; then he worked at GE in Somersworth until retiring at the age of 62. He used to enjoy gardening and cutting wood, as well as, working with the Fishermen at the First Congregational Church of Barrington. He is survived by his wife, Ada; his brother, Philip (Archie) Fernald; sisters, Virginia Rose, Marie Bapple and Euleta Bunnell; his three sons, Larry and Marylou Fernald, Gary and Virginia Fernald and Harold and Christine Fernald; 7 grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, Harold and Thomas, his sisters, Francis and Eddie. Visiting hours will be held at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, (Rte. 4) Lee, NH on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:00am at the First Congregational Church of Barrington, 710 Franklin Pierce Highway Barrington, NH 03825.
