Obituary for Paul Robert Anthony Daigle

Paul R.A. Daigle

Strafford: Paul Robert Anthony Daigle, 66, of Sloper Road passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, at Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation after an illness.

He was born on November 10, 1955, in Methuen, Massachusetts; the son of Jean L. and Juliette (Paradis) Daigle.

Paul grew up in Methuen, MA where he attended Greater Lawrence Technical School with a focus on metalworking and welding. He was active in sports and was accomplished in football, wrestling and, as a member of the swim team. After High School, Paul married and relocated to New Hampshire. There he built his family home and began his career as a pipefitter and welder through Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 131, retiring in 2020 after 38 years of service.

Through his career, Paul became a highly productive and accomplished welder earning the respect of his brothers and sisters within the local and beyond. Paul enjoyed providing opportunities and educating new members at their training facility, serving on the scholarship board, and as welding instructor for the apprenticeship program for many years. Paul loved the camaraderie afforded by his chosen profession.

Paul loved his home and land which he continuously improved and meticulously maintained for many years, giving him great joy and sense of accomplishment. He completed much of the work himself and with his parents and children. Paul loved spending time with family and friends camping and at campfires, but most of all Paul loved being out on the water. He spent countless weekends swimming and boating in Lake Winnipesaukee, Great Bay, and Bow Lake with family and friends.

Paul is survived by his (ex-wife) of 27 years, Joanne Parent of Rochester; son Christopher and wife Jillian (Cuscia) Daigle of Portsmouth NH, daughter Michelle Daigle and husband Piphal Heng of Honolulu, Hawaii, and daughter Tracey Daigle and husband Niclas Kark of Norrköping, Sweden.; Sister Marilyn and her husband Roland, brothers Gerard and wife Janice; Jean and wife Carol; Dennis and wife Deborah. He leaves behind three grandsons Theodor, Donovan and Elijah and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Jean and Juliette.

This has been chosen to honor one of Paul’s core values which he always held dear, the value of attainment of skills and competency through education. A private interment service will be held at St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemeteries, Lawrence MA at the convenience of the family.
