Obituary for Nancy Elaine Macaione (Flanagan)

Nancy E. Flanagan Macaione

Dover, NH: Nancy E. Flanagan Macaione, of 81 Spruce Lane, died on Tuesday December 8th, 2020 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on September 5th, 1940 in South Berwick, ME, the daughter of the late Edward Lawrence and Anita (Dube) Flanagan.

Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, sibling and friend with an engaging smile and huge heart. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, loved Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven, and enjoyed singing, dancing, playing the piano, collecting dolls and crocheting. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 62 years, Anthony Macaione, Sr.; her three children Rosemary Theresa Macaione of Dover, N.H., Anthony Thomas Macaione, Jr. of Rochester N.H., and Edward Lawrence and Lauren Macaione of Rollinsford, N.H; her loving sister Linda Chase of Riverside Rest Home, Dover N.H.; brother and sister-in-law Barry and Jane Flanagan of Rochester N.H.; her seven grandchildren: Stephanie and Bob Swanson of Raleigh N.C., Shelley Valhos and Brian Sechrest of Cary N.C., Erika Macaione of Boston Mass., Amanda Getman of Greenland N.H., Anthony J. Macaione III of Rochester N.H., Andrew Macaione of Portland ME., and Thomas and Abbi Macaione of Rochester N.H.; and her four great grandchildren, Callie and Gavin Swanson and Brooks and Brady Sechrest, her favorite pet Kota as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was pre-deceased by her son Thomas Macaione and brother and sister-in-law Kirby and Donna Flanagan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital.

There will be no services held at this time. A Celebration of Nancy’s life may be held in the future
