Melvin "Mel" L. Paul Dover: Melvin L. Paul, "Mel", 66, of Monroe St., passed away on Tues., August 2, 2012 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Melvin was born on April 28, 1946 in Bloomfield, NB; the son of Edward David "Fritz" and Edith (Shear) Paul. Mel lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas and California. He went to school in Newbury Park, Palmdale and Ventura, California. He served our country proudly in the USAF, He was a Vietnam veteran and was honorably discharged; he came to Pease Air Force Base and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 27 years. Mel loved baseball, he coached minor league, Ll, Babe Ruth and Legion ball and PeeWee Little Green football. Mel worked with his wife at Gallagher's Awards for 18 years. He is survived by his wife Jan; daughter, Marji Lewis, son, Chris Paul, grandchildren, Chris MacDonald, Abbey &Haleigh Lewis, Brittany & Jessica Paul; several nieces & nephews around the country; and his cat, Ebony and dog, Freddie. There are no services at this time. Memorial Donations may be made to any animal charity of one's choice.
