Mary Healy Leach, 91, formerly of York, Maine and Lexington, Massachusetts died peacefully on June 8th, 2018 at the Dover Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dover, New Hampshire. She was born in Eastport, Maine on September 26th, 1926 to Linnie (Wentworth) and Eugene Healy. Mary attended the University of Maine, Orono where she met and married her dear “Chuck”, Charles Carr Leach, Jr. Together they established their home in Lexington, MA with their seven children. Mary’s devotion as a mother was reflected in the love and care she gave to each of her children. It never wavered, only grew as she shared her love for their families to include her 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Chuck, and her sisters, Ginny (Warren) and Evelyn (Hichborn). She is survived by her children: Jay, Chris, Maggie, Nancy, Jonathan, Mark and Stephen along with their families. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, a request is made for family flowers only. Should friends desire, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to continue her legacy of caring for children. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 18th at 11 am at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Rte 4), Barrington/Lee, NH.
