Center Ossipee – Marie (Mary) M. Jones, 93, of Spur Road, Center Ossipee and formerly of Dover, passed away June 28 2014 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH with her nieces at her side. She was born in Dover on April 5, 1921, the daughter of John and Annie (Rountree) Gardner. She attended Dover schools graduating from Dover High School in 1939. She was employed for many years by Clarostat in Dover and also had a bridal business in Dover for several years. She moved to her home on Ossipee Lake with her husband after retirement and lived there for the rest of her life. Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, sewing, and reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert L. Jones, Jr., her son, David P. Jones and brother, Paul Desjardin. She is survived by her son, Joseph C. Jones, of Durham; two nieces, Pamela Roy of Dover and Paula Stout and husband Steven of Somersworth; grand-niece Carey (Roy) Barry and grand-nephews Jeffrey Stacy, Corey Stacy and Aaron Roy; and seven great-grand nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 150 Central Avenue, Dover followed by a graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover.
