Obituary for Mary S Donnelly (Donnelly)

Mary S. Donnelly, 61, formerly of Barrington, NH, recent homeowner in Rochester, NH, passed away on May 13, 2023. Those who knew Mary mourn her passing with deep sorrow and much love.
Mary was born October 6th, 1961, the youngest of five children to the late Robert T. Donnelly and Therese Gagne Donnelly in Somersworth, NH. Later sharing her birthday with her nephew, Danny.
Mary grew up on the Seacoast, attending schools in Newington and Greenland. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1979.
During the 1980s, Mary worked as a Materials / Receipt Inspector for Pullman Higgins and Grinell Fire Protection during the construction phase of Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant. She was later employed for over 20 years at Baumann/Emerson as a Purchasing Agent and most recently at SubCom with the same title.
At Baumann, Mary was included as one of the family of close knit employees. There she became friends with several of them and remained close over the many years after the business moved.
Mary had a great love for animals, especially black labs and was an avid gardener. Her friends and family will attest to her intelligence, her wit, and her sense of humor.
She would want to be remembered as a caring daughter and sister, an “Aunt Wonderful” and a loving friend.
Mary will be deeply missed by her longtime partner, Dane Kirkwood and his children; her sister and brother in law, Kathleen and Scot McNair and their three children, Danny, Kevin, and Emily.
Mary also leaves behind her siblings Elyse A. Donnelly Katsanos, James R. Donnelly, William A. Donnelly, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
But she will be missed most deeply by her most precious family member, her black lab, Molly.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Purdy Memorial Chapel in Lee to be held on May 25th, 2023 at 12:00 pm followed by a gathering for a time to share memories and stories. Private burial will be at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth, NH.
In lieu of flowers, Mary would have appreciated donations made to Pope Memorial Humane Society or your local animal rescue.
