Marie E. Rines, 79, of Barrington, passed away on Oct. 8, 2018 at home after a 5-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 31, 1939 in Bangor Maine; the daughter of the late Ralph N. and Margaret L. (Rowell) Sawyer. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1957 and the Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1960. She married Richard W. Rines on March 24, 1961. She was a member of the Newington Reaper’s Circle, the Newington Congregational Church and the Good Sam Club Seabreezes Chapter. She enjoyed camping, playing games with her children and grandchildren, word search puzzles, watching game and reality shows and reading books. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard W. Rines on Feb 4, 2014. She is survived by her 6 children, David Rines of Barrington, Audrey Rines of Barrington, William Rines and wife, Debra of Dover, Willard Rines and wife, Paula of Exeter, Dora Damuth and husband Mark of Springvale, ME and Susan Morris and husband, Frankie of Rochester; 7 grandchildren, sisters-in-law Betty Goodwin and husband Roy of Holden, ME; Annie King of Bangor, ME and Doris Alley of Gilford and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd. (Rt4) in Lee on Oct.18, 2018 from 5PM to 7PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Newington Congregational Church on Oct. 19, 2018 at 11:00am with Rev. Nancy Rockwell, officiating. Burial will be in the Newington Town Cemetery.
