Mrs. Margaret M. (VonRoenn) Widener, of Lee, wife of Steven L. Widener, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Louisville, KY, on November 16, 1953, the daughter of Warren and Catherine (Bauer) VonRoenn. Peggy attended Edgecliff College, spent her career helping her community and most recently worked as a loan officer at People’s National Bank in Durham, NH. She shared an unmatched joy for living and was known for her deeply compassionate and loving personality. In addition to her husband of 39 years, she is survived by her mother, Catherine (Bauer) Davis and husband William, of Louisville, KY; son, Warren Widener and wife Kathryn (McCauley), of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Joan (VonRoenn) Winkler and husband David, Alexis (VonRoenn) Stevenson and husband Jim, Vicki (VonRoenn) Green and husband David, Mary Lynn (VonRoenn) Garrett and husband Jeff; brothers, Greg VonRoenn and wife Carla, Stephen VonRoenn and wife Renee; sisters-in-law, Deborah Widener and partner Robert Friel, Jamie (Hayden) VonRoenn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 5 to 7pm at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd, Lee, NH. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on May 17 at Lee Church Congregational, 17 Mast Rd, Lee, NH, followed by a burial ceremony and visiting hours at the family’s home.
