Obituary for Louise D. Stanton (Dion)

Louise D. Stanton, 85 of 1 Eaton Woods, East Kingston, passed away peacefully at Epsom Healthcare Center on January 4, 2023, with family by her side

She was born to the late Hector Dion and the late Marie D. (Poirier) Dion on January 21, 1937 in Fall River, MA.

Louise was the widow of Russell W. Stanton residing in Fall River, MA, Dover, NH & Melbourne, FL throughout her life. She was a graduate of Dominican Academy, class of 1955. Married on October 19, 1957 in Fall River where they had 3 children. The family moved to Dover, NH in 1963 where she raised her 3 children. Once the children started school, Louise went to work at Wentworth Douglas Hospital as an administrative assistant, with the Social Services Department. It was in this position that she worked with Avis Goodwin who became a life-long friend. Once her children were grown, she moved back to Fall River to care for her mother, upon her mother’s passing she moved to Florida to support her sister where she resided until 2020. Louise was an avid New England sports fan, she loved to shop and to dine out and no matter where she was or what she was doing her family was first and foremost on her mind.

She is survived by her son, Gary Stanton, and his wife (Karen) of New Durham; Daughter, Elizabeth Richardson, and her husband (Scot) of Concord; Daughter, Jennifer Keith and her husband (David) of East Kingston; grandchildren Bradford Stanton (Isabella), Mathew Stanton (Amanda), Dylan Richardson, Carter Richardson, Brian Keith, & Kristina Keith; Sisters Lorraine Azevedo, Pauline Goyette and Brother Robert Dion.

She is predeceased by her parents; brothers; Hector Dion, Raymond Dion; Grandchildren Courtney Richardson and Johnny Keith.

A private family service will be held at Purdy Funeral Home, at a later date.
