Obituary for Louisa M Tapley (Dumas)
August 29, 2023 Louis Marie Tapley (Dumas) passed away peacefully at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Louisa was born in Detroit, MI on March 14, 1938, the daughter of Brenda Dumas (Stacey) and Frances Dumas. She was a longtime resident of Portsmouth and graduated from PHS class of 1955.
She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Wiggin Tire and Appliance and at Continental Cablevision.
Louisa was very active in retirement as a member of the Rochester Senior Center, TOPS and enjoyed weekly Bingo.
She was loved by her friends and family and her sense of humor and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.
Louisa is survived by her loving son George E. Tapley and his long-time partner Kelley Allen of Barrington, NH, nephew Michael Dumas, Anne Cox and great nephew Nicholas of North Berwick, ME, granddaughter Kacie Riley and her husband Richard of Rochester, NH, three great grandchildren, and longtime friend Pamela LaRose of Rochester.
Louisa was predeceased by her husband Robert, mother Brenda, and brothers Glen Dumas and Herbert Lathrop.
Services will be held on September 22nd from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Purdy’s Funeral Home in Lee, NH.
