Obituary for Lori Jo Hess (Goodrich)
Rollinsford: Lori J. Hess, 63, of Stockdale Circle, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. Lori was born on November 27, 1960 in Newburgh, NY; the daughter of Fred Goodrich and Lillian (Staples) Goodrich.
Lori worked for the Rollinsford Grade School, where she started as a library aide and worked her way into being a paraprofessional, helping to teach many students and classes over the years. Lori loved her students and would often share stories about the wonderful experiences that teaching brought her. She spent a lot of time and effort volunteering for the school, whether that was staying late to work with students, helping organize and run the school’s theater program, or helping other members of the staff. Lori loved camping, crafting, reading and music.
Lori is predeceased by her husband Robert Hess, her father Fred Goodrich, and her brother Bruce Goodrich. Lori is survived by her sons, Trevor Hess of Chicago, IL and Ian Hess of Rollinsford, NH; her mother Lillian Goodrich and her sister Ceil Goodrich of Salisbury Mills, NY; her brother Paul Goodrich and his wife, Donna Goodrich of New Windsor, NY; her niece Jenn Pillar and her family of Chester, NY; her niece Becky Goodrich and her family of Suffern, NY; her dear friend Gail Claverie and her family of York, ME; as well as a great many other friends, family, coworkers and students.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lori’s name to the Rollinsford Grade School, 487 Locust St. Rollinsford, NH 03869. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2024, from 1pm-3pm at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH.
