Dover – Lera (Ward) Scott, age 56, died at Riverside Rest Home on in Dover on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 after a long illness. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed. She was born on August 21, 1957 in Dover, NH. She is the daughter of the late Stephen R. Ward and the late Dorothy LaFlesh. Lera was always a dedicated, hardworking lady, successful at whatever position she held. She graduated from Wells High School in Wells Maine, in 1976. She was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2009 at the age of 52. Lera leaves behind three children, Heidi Drehoble and her husband Robert of Rochester; Jamie Cross of Zepherhills, FL; and Frank Cross Jr of Denver, CO. She also leaves behind their father Frank Cross of FL; siblings Stephen Ward and his wife Sandra of Freedom, NH, Vickie A. Rose of Gorham, NH, Wendy Ward Browning of Berlin, NH, Tammy Herman and her husband Paul of Gorham NH, Tim Ward of Fort Lauderdale, FL, John LaFlesh of Rochester, Mike South and Cindy Whelen of NH. She will also be missed by her granddaughter Alexis Duhaime of Rochester, NH, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The funeral will follow at 11am with Pastor Paul Lavigne officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington, NH. A celebration of Lera’s life will be held at the East Rochester American Legion from 2:30 to 4:30 following the graveside, and will be catered by the Legion.
