Obituary for Leo Joseph Rochefort Jr. Mr.

Leo Joseph Rochefort Jr., age 74, of Dover NH died on Sunday December 18. Born September 2, 1937; in Fall River MA to Loretta Jean and Leo Rochefort Sr. Leo grew up in Fall River MA. He served in the army in his early 20s. He has lived in Dover, NH for the last 32 years and worked as a manager at Liberty Mutual until his retirement. Leo was predeceased by his beloved wife Claudette and his parents. Leo was a supportive husband who adored his wife. After her death, in 2002, he was embraced by close family and friends. This support and companionship and Leo's strength helped sustain him through that painful time and well beyond. He valued his time spent with his grandchildren Deanna and James above all else. He loved attending their performances, Thursday night dinners and family getaways. He was a loving and selfless father to his children, Marc and Nicole. He was a giving man with a kind heart who was eager to help someone with a home improvement project or offer other support when needed. In the last 8 years of his life, Leo embraced his passion for traveling and was always either away on vacation or planning his next one. He enjoyed learning about different cultures and seeing new places while surrounded by those close to him. Leo saw himself as a perpetual student, always eager to learn more and share his new found knowledge with others. History, politics and religion were his most compelling subjects. He was equally fond of classical music and you could often find him tapping his fingers to the tempo. Survived by his son Marc and his wife Stephanie from ME, his daughter Nicole and her partner Jessica from MA, his brother Gerry and his wife Barbara from MA, his sister Dianne and her husband Bob of GA and his grandchildren James and Deanna. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Leo's memory to the American Cancer Society by mailing a check to PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK. 73123-1718 or to the Make a Wish Foundation by going online to http://www.wish.org/help/donate.
