Lawrence Emilio Grassi, 91, of 36 Church St, Barrington, NH passed away on June 25, 2014, at Frisbee Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 08, 1923 in Bethal Vermont. The son of the late Frank Grassi and Angelina Dalli. Lawrence served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Besides his family, hunting, fishing, his dog, lawn and truck was his passion. His family was always the most important thing to him. He was always there for them. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard in 1965 and worked many odd jobs throughout the seacoast area supporting his family. He was predeceased by brothers: Geno Grassi of Brattleboro Vt. Aldo Grassi of Dover NH and his sisters, Nora Laflem & Anne Smith of Brattleboro Vt. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jessica Grassi, his sons & their wives Mike & Kathleen Grassi, Tom & Lorraine Grassi, Jonathan Grassi & fiancé Michele MacNeil, Ron Grassi; His daughter & her husband, Linda & Ken Bachmann; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 10AM to 11AM at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd. Lee, NH 03824. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11AM following visitation with Deacon Robert Gagnon officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington, NH.
