Obituary for Lauren Eva Twombly (Wharmby)

LAUREN EVA (WHARMBY) TWOMBLY - 76 of Lee, NH sadly left us on Tuesday, December 12th. Born January 16th 1947 in Yonkers, NY, she is survived by her husband Roland I. Twombly Sr. of 56 years, her sister Marjorie Spaulding and husband Clyde (Madbury), her son Roland Twombly Jr. and his wife Winny (Lee), her daughter Michelle Doucette and husband Derek (Lee), son Jason Twombly (Epping), her daughter Angela Fleming and husband Will(Maiden, NC), grandchildren - Katrina Lea, Dominique Twombly, Trevor Doucette, Xiana Twombly, Tyler Palmer, Gracie Twombly, Jacob Twombly, Julia Palmer, and great grandson Peyton. Predeceased by: her father Charles A. Wharmby and mother Permilla ("Pam" Lovely) Wharmby (Lee).

Although Lauren was a city girl, growing up she loved coming to New Hampshire in the summers. This is where she found her love for water skiing and the love of her life Roland ("Rolly") Twombly.

Lauren worked for the University of New Hampshire and then Liberty Mutual from which she retired early to spend more time with the "apples of her eye" her grandchildren. She loved to be surrounded by her family and enjoyed every minute of it. She was the best wife, mom and grandmother always fully devoted to her family.

Lauren had a warm, unfiltered sense of humor that would always make people smile and laugh. We will treasure all the hilarious memories and stories we have shared with her. Through this loss we will continue to laugh about all the crazy times of driving past the farms to see the animals or even just going for a car ride down the back roads singing and laughing listening to music. That was what she loved, hearing and seeing her grandchildren laugh until they were practically crying. Lauren was the type of mother and grandmother that did everything. She made sure all her children and grandchildren were taken care of, whether that was picking them all up from school, making sure they each made it to practice on time, or feeding them until they couldn't eat anymore. We will each go along telling these stories, though some were hard to believe they were true.

Lauren has touched so many lives and she will be missed tremendously.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 15th 2-4pm at Purdy Memorial Chapel 2 Concord Rd. Lee, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lauren's name to St. Jude, Shriners Hospital for Children, or the Ronald McDonald House.
