Obituary for Kenneth Resendes

Kenneth “Ken” Resendes, 67, of Barrington, NH passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital on July 11, 2018 at 6:39 am after a long battle with several health issues arising from a lung transplant nearly 9 years ago. Ken was grateful to have the opportunity to spend those 9 extra years with his family and friends and never regretted it one bit. Ken is survived by his wife of 42 years UnCha Resendes, and his four children Andy, Jennifer, John and Kevin. He is also survived by several other friends and family members who loved him very much. Ken was born on February 4, 1951 in Somerville, MA to Loretta Sciola and George Resendes Sr. He was a jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force for 23.5 years and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force in 1992 at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a very hard working man and continued to work even after his retirement from military service. His most recent places of employment were Advance Pump and Filter and H&R Block. He was also a long standing member of the Barrington American Legion Post #114, serving as the treasury secretary. Ken was always trying to help others and his selfless behavior is reflected in all the lives he touched along the way. He was known as a generous, kind, and compassionate man. He was strong, independent and definitely a fighter. Even in poor health, he was always out and about trying to get things done for his family and friends. His strength and perseverance were obvious to all those who knew him and he will truly be missed. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday August 4, 2018 @ 11am at Purdy Memorial Chapel (2 Concord Road, Lee, NH 03824), with a pot-luck reception to follow at Barrington American Legion Post 114 (731 Franklin Pierce Highway, Barrington, New Hampshire).
