Obituary for Kenneth Hawkins

Kenneth Christian Hawkins, of Nottingham, NH, passed away on June 7th, 2018. He was born on July 9th, 1971, to Chip Hawkins and the late Maryann Gigliello. Ken was married to his Ray of Light, Raquel, who as he lovingly described has “sarcasm for miles with her beautiful smile…you never know what’s behind that smile”. Ken was a good ole’ Greenland boy, an overly talented musician, an avid animal lover and a professional Craigslist hunter. Let’s be honest, no one could obsessively track down a remote power tool, bang out a melody or love a farm animal better than Ken! In his spare time, Ken enjoyed many hobbies. He was a loyal member of the parking police and had a weakness for two-wheelers. Sign making was Ken’s passion, an inappropriate slogan was his humor. He was a dedicated Facebook performer. As Ken would softly whisper to his wife after every post, he was “living for the likes”. Ken is survived by his wife, Raquel Hawkins; his father, Chip Hawkins and wife Janet Hawkins of Barrington, NH; two sisters, Wendy Hawkins of Exeter, NH and Jennifer Higgins and her husband Michael Higgins of Rosville, CA; mother-in-law, Deborah Kuhn and father-in-law, Gary Kuhn of Portsmouth, NH; two brother-in-laws, Bryan Kuhn of Portsmouth, NH and Steve Ernest of Exeter, NH. Ken was a loving uncle to Joe, Nate, Big G., Landry, Bella, Desmond and Carter. Ken was predeceased by his mother Maryann Gigliello of Biddeford, ME, his sister Rebecca Gigliello-Ernest of Exeter, NH and his brother, Scott Schuler. He will be forever missed by his devoted canine companions, “his girls”, Zoey and Kaya, and by his beloved chicken Chetley. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Thursday June 14th at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Route 4, Lee, NH. Visiting hours are 3pm-5pm, funeral services begin at 5pm. All are welcome to gather after for a reception at Dante’s, 567 Calef Hwy., Barrington, NH. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards Ken’s memorial service in care of Deborah Kuhn, 40 Chauncey St., Portsmouth, NH, 03801.
