Obituary for Joseph Albert McCormack

Dover-Joseph Albert McCormack, 76, of Dover, died early Friday morning, July 27, 2012. Born on October 5, 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island, Joseph was the son of the late George and Mary Alice (Gaudon) McCormack. He was a graduate of Hope High School, in Providence, Class of 1954; New Vocational Technical College, Class of 1961 and New Hampshire College, Class of 1974. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Joseph was employed for nearly 35 years by Davidson Rubber-Textron as a Mechanical Drafter and Program Manager. He was an active member of the Toastmasters Club. Throughout his lifetime, Joe pursued many interests including hiking, folk guitar music, sailing, and writing. He published a novel called ‘The Legacy’. Joe will be remembered most importantly as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 52 years JoAnne, three children Laura Zabkar and husband Clifford, Jayne Rewucki and husband Stephen and Jonathan McCormack and wife Nicki Connors; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Zabkar, Hannah Zabkar, Clifford Alexander Zabkar, Kaley Fellows, Maxwell Rewucki, Cameron Rewucki and Johanna Rewucki. He was predeceased by sister Mildred Rushe. Friends are invited to call Sunday July 29th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wiggin Purdy McCooey Dion Funeral Home 655 Central Ave, Dover, followed by a memorial service at 4:00. Memorials in his name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
