Obituary for Jose Wer Mr.

Jose Wer, 77, of Northwood, NH, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. Born September 8, 1940 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, he was the son of the late Roberto Wer and Josephina (Prado) Wer. After coming to the United States, Jose fell in love with his new home and quickly joined the U.S. Army in 1963, proudly serving his country for 20+ years, until he retired in 1985. Jose’s love of computers and his ability to be the go-to man for all things computer related prompted him to begin his own business, where he built and repaired computers. He even wrote a book called “No Tech Talk” to help others with this knowledge. He was introduced to Karaoke by his youngest daughter, and found he loved singing songs by Frank Sinatra, earning him the nickname “the Spanish Sinatra”. He met many friends along the karaoke path and built up a respectable audience of admirers. Jose also had a great love for his fur babies, Abby and Gibbs, brother and sister shepard mix-breeds whom were named after his and his wife Phyllis’s favorite characters from the show NCIS. One of Jose’s best qualities was his wonderful sense of humor. He’s known to have told the story that in his younger years he had prayed to God to be surrounded by women and God proved He had a sense of humor by blessing Jose with four daughters! He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. These great qualities remained present even in his final weeks. Of all the things he loved, family was the most important thing to Jose. His grandchildren and great grandchildren all benefitted from that love, as he was a very involved and caring grandfather. His laughter and presence will be greatly missed by all of them. Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Adjutant) Wer; his four daughters (and their spouses/significant other), Jennifer & Steven Bedsole, Andrea & James Anderson, Erika & David Durning, Deanna Poplawski and David Bickford; his brother Roberto (Bob) Wer and his wife Kathy; his two sisters, Ketty Pensabene with her husband Edgar, and Olga Ramirez; and his twelve grandchildren (Corrin, Kayleigh and Kyle Bedsole; Brianna, Schyuler and Seairra Anderson; Brittany and Mariah Clifford; Ashlynn, Meredith, Ryen Poplawski and Ethan Bickford)and four great grandchildren (Alexis Joseph, Kai A. Anderson, Maci Garcia and Ayden Garcia). A Celebration of Jose’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Rochester Country Club, 94 Church St. (off Rte. 125), Rochester, NH 03839.
