Joanne was born on July 25th, 1959 in Concord, New Hampshire; the daughter of Arthur and Margery (Heath) Nutter of Northwood. Joanne attended Coe Brown Academy of Northwood, class of 1978. She was a graduate of the College of Lifelong Learning. She worked for 26 years at the University of New Hampshire, the Dover School District and Phillips Exeter Academy, in the roles of facilities manager.
After coming to Dover in 1979, she married Guy Eaton in 1980. She had two children and was very involved in their lives through various activities including schooling, Scouting and sports. While working, she also found time to volunteer for many groups and organizations. Joanne was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Dover, NH, where she served on numerous committees. She was a supporter of Scouting, as Cubmaster of Pack 180 of Dover, NH. Joanne also served as a member of the Abnaki District, Daniel Webster Council. Following a passion for genealogy, Joanne and her sisters traced their ancestors' history, which naturally led her to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She demonstrated her expertise in genealogy for the DAR and soon became Registrar of the Margery Sullivan Chapter. She was recently accepted into the Mayflower Society. Of all of her accomplishments, what gave her the greatest joy was spending time with her family, four grandchildren and countless friends.
