Rollinsford, NH- Jean (Desautel) Arkwell, 83, of Rollinsford, NH died Sunday June 22, 2014 after a brief illness. Born June 29, 1930 in Dover, NH she was the daughter of Exiase and Celesta (Towse) Desautel. Jean attended Dover, NH schools and lived in Dover most of her life, moving to Rollinsford in 1996. She loved swimming and spending summers at her camp on Milton Three Ponds. She also enjoyed local theater, reading, sewing and cooking. Jean had a special place in her heart for her two dogs which were her constant companions. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Harold R. Arkwell, and all of her brothers and sisters. Jean is survived by her children and spouses Allan and Karen Arkwell, Bonny and Chris Goodale, David and Lona Arkwell and Gary Arkwell and partner Greg Reed. She is survived by her grandchildren Gary and Melissa Arkwell, Toby and Kim Arkwell, Heather and Nathan Phipps, Toni and John Diaco, Brandon and Heather Stachura, Shawn and Barbara Arkwell, Jodie Arkwell and partner James Drakopoulos, Rani and John Powierza and Jared Arkwell. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren. Per Jean’s wishes there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service Monday June 30, 2014 at 10:30am at Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, NH followed by a reception for family and friends at St. Johns Methodist Church on Cataract Ave in Dover, NH.
