Obituary for Janice Irene Gregoire (Fogarty)
Somersworth- Janice Irene (Fogarty) Gregoire, 70, of Somersworth passed away Friday June 30, 2023 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with her health.
Born December 4, 1952 in Dover NH she was the daughter of the late Martin and Irene (Desmarais) Fogarty.
Janice was predeceased by her husband John Gregoire, who was the love of her life.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Her greatest joys in life included spending time with people close to her, traveling, and summers at her cottage on Prince Edward Island. Janice was a person who defied odds in many ways. She not only completed a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 young children at home, she went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management as well. Janice became a multi-sport athlete after double knee replacements in her 50’s and competed in many road races and triathlons. Her dogs Freddie and Archie were very special to her. Janice was a member of the Women’s Bible Study at St Ignatius in Somersworth.
Survivors include five children; Angela Chapman, Lyndi Sargent and her husband Ryan, John Gregoire, Jr. and his wife Kerry, Joseph Gagnon and his wife Jessica, Emily Bannister and her husband Scott, two brothers; Dana Fogarty and Marty Fogarty, two sisters; Eileen Cutter and Juanita Fogarty and predeceased by her sister Laura Dandereau. Janice also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; Allison Sonia-Bolduc, Austin and Tyler Bannister, Nicholas and Corey Chapman, Anna and Karsten Sargent, Cameron and Blayne Belanger, Jackson B. Gregoire and Rose Wilson.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday July 5, 2023 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave. Dover NH. From 5-7pm
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10am, St. Martin Church, 120 Maple St. Somersworth NH 03878.
Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Dover NH.
