Obituary for James H Freeman

James “Jimmy” Howard Freeman, 75, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 6th, at home in Nottingham where he had resided for most of his life. He was born in Exeter on November 20, 1947, and was the son of John “Jack” and Laurie (Keaton) Freeman.

He graduated from Dover High School in 1966 and was in the Army for two years, serving in Vietnam and provided entertainment for the troops playing in a USO band. He was a master electrician having worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. He owned and operated the Off Hour Multi-Media Workshop in Lee for over 20 years helping people with their computers. He was a little league coach in Nottingham when his sons were young, enjoyed playing golf and riding his motorcycle with his friends, fixing cars, taking photographs and playing in his brother John’s rock band with his sister-in-law, nephew, and friend Bryan.

Members of his family include his three sons, Matthew Freeman and his fiancée Alexandra Jones, Mark Freeman and his wife Amanda, and Adam Freeman and his wife Elaine, his 5 grandchildren, his ex-wife Patti Freeman, as well as a sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers John and Terry Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to veterans’ organizations.
A private celebration of his life will be attended by family members only.
