Obituary for Hubert Quigley

BERWICK, Maine - Hubert J. Quigley, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He was born in Kells, County Kilkenny. He left Kells at the age of 13 and went to The Brothers of Charity in County Cork, Ireland for his schooling. From there he went to Manchester England where he studied Architecture at the Brothers, his first job was restoring an old church. In 1985 at the age of 41 he emigrated from Ireland to the United States with his wife and children, to live the American dream in Exeter, N.H. Hubert loved life, he was an amazing carpenter and home builder, who built many beautiful homes throughout the seacoast area. He had a knack for tackling any project no matter the complexity, and always with a sense of humor. His favorite sport to watch was the Irish game of hurling, always cheering on his favorite team, Kilkenny. He leaves behind his devoted wife Maura [Fennelly] Quigley, of Berwick, Maine; his daughter Jacinta [Quigley] Marlow, her husband William C. Marlow and their son William S. Marlow of Berwick, Maine; his son Damien Quigley and his children, Connor, Brady and Eliza Quigley of Madbury, N.H. He also leaves behind his sister Angela Reilly and her family in County Waterford, Ireland; his brother Vincent Quigley and his family in County Laois, Ireland; his sister Pauline Foley and her family in County Limerick, Ireland; and his brother David Quigley and his family in Stratham, N.H. He will be forever in our hearts; he will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
