Obituary for Howard James Swindell Jr.

Somersworth- Howard James Swindell, Jr. passed away on July 27, 2012 at the Pleasant View Care Center in Concord at 80 years of age. Howard was liked by all who met him and had a greatly infectious smile. He first came to NH as a machinist for C.E. Avery in Newington, where he worked until retiring in 1995. He used to enjoy bowling and golfing, as well as, working with model trains, leathercraft and cooking. As a younger man he served our country in the Air Force and served his lord as a Mason for many years. As a retiree, he found a great joy in cooking and rediscovered his love of guitar playing. He is survived by his brothers; Harold and Lorne Swindell and their families, his sister; Janet DeCourcey and her family, two children; Kimberly Lachance and Howard J. Swindell, III along with their families and two wonderful grandchildren. Howard was predeceased by his brother Jack Swindell, his sisters; Mary Deborah Mercereau and Doris Westaway and also his wife of 39 years, Elaine Swindell. Visiting hours will be held at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd (rte 4) Lee, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 5pm-6pm with memorial service to follow at 6pm.
