Obituary for Heidi Ann Stucker (Gerhard)

Heidi Ann (Gerhard) Stucker, 65, of Alton, New Hampshire, passed away on May 2nd after a prolonged and arduous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Heidi loved spending time with her family and supporting UNH Hockey. She spent many years at the pool watching her kids swim and found great joy in baking. She enjoyed participating in the Seacoast Cancer Center’s 5K and was a strong advocate for Death with Dignity.

Heidi’s passion as a healthcare provider began at an early age volunteering as a candy striper. She was the first of her family to attend college, graduating from UNH with a degree in psychology. After graduating from the Concord Hospital School of Nursing, she began her career at Wentworth Douglass Hospital as a floor nurse, then in the ICU and Recovery Room. In 1995, Heidi earned a Master’s Degree and became an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner specializing in Internal Medicine at Strafford Medical Associates. Her true passion became apparent when she transferred to the WDH Palliative Care department, providing care to terminally ill patients. Over her long and productive career she helped thousands of people with her skill, warmth, and compassion.

Heidi was predeceased by her father, William, and her sister, Donna. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis, her husband, Rhys, her two children, William and Amelia, her granddaughter, Millicent, and an abundance of extended family and friends.

We will miss Heidi more than words can say, but our family is grateful to know she is finally at peace. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Heidi’s name to either the Seacoast Cancer Center or Death With Dignity.
