Obituary for Harriet Louise Virgin (Richardson)

Harriet Virgin, a longtime resident of Dover, N.H., died on December 11, 2023, after a period of failing health. She was the daughter of Clifton and Edna Nealey Richardson and was born June 17th,1932, in Pittsfield, N.H. Harriet attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from high school in 1950. She then went to work at Public Service in Manchester, N.H. Later on, she moved to Concord and worked for the Loan and Trust Bank. She settled in Dover, N.H., where she raised her children, Pamela and Donald. Harriet was involved in Girl Scouts and kept active at Developmental Services when her son Donald attended. Her greatest joy was spending time with and helping disabled students. They loved the many meals she cooked for them.

Working in retail was one of her greatest passions. She managed the Fashion Barn in Dover for twenty-seven years. She enjoyed helping customers and made many friends during her time there. After her retirement, she worked part time at Nicole's Card Shop for twenty years. Harriet enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, reading, and being with her friends and family. She always had a smile on her face and maintained a positive attitude. Harriet always put others before herself, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Beane of Kennebunk, Maine, her granddaughter, Abbie Beane and husband Ryan Sullivan of California, and her great grandchildren, Jameson and Emma Sullivan, sister-in-law Carole Richardson of Pittsfield, N.H., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Donald, both her parents, sister Ruthie, her brother Paul, and her longtime companion Ronald Newell.
