Barrington: George H. Martin, III, 61, passed away on Tues., June 5, 2012 at the Exeter Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. George was born Feb 28, 1951 in Somerville, MA; the son of the late George H. Jr. and the late Dolores (Baro) Martin. He graduated 1969 from Somerville High School. George loved his music; so much so that he played his guitar all the time from the 3rd story bedroom in Somerville. He traveled to Mexico with his friends; he was an avid golfer, skier, motorcycle riding and enjoyed football. One of his passions was sailing. Summering at the family cottage on Peak’s Island, ME where he sailed. George lived on his boat “Absolutely” for a while in Boston Harbor, MA and San Diego Bay, CA. George is survived by his wife Carrie and her extended family. His daughters; Laura Denison and her husband Michael of Stoneham, MA and Stacy Edwards and her husband Steve of Melrose, MA ; his grandsons Jack, Steven, Sam, Brendan, and Cameron; his 4 sisters, Jane and John Johnson, Sharon and Steve Hughes, Kathleen and Richard Seymour and Lori Martin-Holden; and many nieces and nephews. Family flowers welcome, donations may be made in George’s name to American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat., June 9th Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Rt. 4, Lee, NH with LifeCycle Celebrant, Jo Maden, officiating; with a reception will follow in the downstairs hall.
