Obituary for Gail Ann Farmer (Leone)
Gail A. Farmer of Barrington, NH passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 29, 2024 after a brave battle with cancer.
She was born in Medford, MA on January 2, 1956, daughter of the late John Peter and Florence (Fitzpatrick) Leone. Gail graduated from Fitton All Girls School in Malden in 1973 and attended Bunker Hill College in Charlestown where she worked towards a nursing degree.
Gail's career encompasses caring for other people. For twenty-two years she served as a certified Hemodialysis Technician and Preceptor for Fresenius Medical Care where she specialized in dialysis administration and assessment. During her tenure as a dialysis technician, she was recognized among the top dialysis technicians in the northeast region.
Gail loved wood working, jewelry making, gardening, hiking, and enjoyed taking road trips with her husband Jim. She shared a love of music and TV shows with her daughter. She also enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings with her family and friends.
Gail is survived by her husband of 39 years, James W. Farmer Sr. of Barrington, NH; daughter Katherine L. Farmer of Barrington; son James W. Farmer Jr. and his wife Caitlin C. Farmer of Stratham and two grandchildren Addison and Julian Farmer; brother John P. Leone and his wife Cindy Leone of Fort Worth, TX; nieces Janelle Leone, Alicia Newsom and nephew John A. Leone; sister-in-law Helene (Lynn) Botzer of Framingham, MA; nephews Brian R. Botzer and Jonathan J. Botzer.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mass General Brigham/Wentworth Douglas Hospital Cancer Center in Gail's name.
