Obituary for Frances M. Davis

Frances Margaret Boyd Davis, 85, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Hyder House in Dover. Frances was born in Dover on October 6, 1933 to Samuel and Alice (Law) Boyd. She attended Dover Schools and graduated from Dover High School in 1951. Frances was a secretary for several government agencies, including the CIA, US Forest Service and Office of Personnel Management before retirement. In retirement she worked for several years at the AT & T Passport Center. Frances loved York Beach and spent summers there since she was a young woman always surrounded by family. She loved old movies and shopping, especially with her granddaughter and sister, Judy. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Davis and his wife, Ann Taylor, of Dover and John Davis, and his wife, Hope (King) also of Dover. In addition, she is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Josie Davis, and Melissa Huette, all of Dover. She had recently welcomed twin great-granddaughters, Hanna and Emma Huette. SERVICES: There will be a graveside service on Friday, November 9 at 10 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery: Boyd family plot off Court Street, Gate 2. There will be a gathering at St. John’s Church on Cataract Avenue after the service. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff on Unit 2 at Riverside Rest Home, as well as the staff at Hyder house and to Frances’ dear friend of 75 years, Claramae Hebert, for their kindness and attention.
