Obituary for Evelyn M Mamigonian (Parnagian)

Evelyn M. Mamigonian, a lifetime resident of Dover, passed away at home on January 16, 2024. Evelyn was born in Dover on February 14, 1937, to Aram and Siran Parnagian.
A 1954 graduate of Dover High School, Evelyn married Carroll H. Mamigonian (1926-92), originally of Manchester, NH, in 1956. Together they built a home and raised a family in Dover and involved themselves in the community.
Evelyn was an exceptional and enthusiastic cook, maker of arts and crafts of many kinds, gardener, and more, who provided multiple generations with quilts, Christmas stockings, and many other treats.
A cancer survivor while in her 50s, Evelyn withstood life’s ups and downs with the support of her family and friends, her faith, and an unshakeable inner strength and love of life.
She was raised in and throughout her entire life was a dedicated member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Dover, a community she supported and was, in turn, supported by.
She is survived by her immediate family: sons and daughters-in-law Carl and Sharon Mamigonian, Gary and Melissa Mamigonian, and Marc Mamigonian and Michelle Oishi; grandchildren Camden, Colby, Miles, and Christina; sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Michael Hashem and nieces Julie (Hashem) Brooks and Janet (Hashem) Homiak and their families including great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was also devoted to and found joy in her extended family including beloved in-laws and cousins as well as her past and present neighbors and their families and many other friends. She cherished the memories of her parents, grandparents, and others who went before her and was proud of her Armenian heritage.
There will be a church service and celebration of Evelyn’s life at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5 Hale St., Dover, NH, on Saturday, February 3 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception and meal next door in Ervin Hall in the Hale House. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated, and her ashes placed in locations of personal significance. The family encourages those who wish to make memorial donations to give to St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Dover, NH.
