Ethel (Mae) Elizabeth Leslie
Rollinsford, New Hampshire: Ethel (Mae) Elizabeth Leslie 93, formerly of Pine Street, went home to be with her Lord on Good Friday, March 29th, 2024 in her home surrounded by loving family at Maple Suites in Dover, NH.
Born on February 26th 1931 in Philadelphia, PA she was the youngest child of Walter and Ethel
Robertshaw.
Mae graduated from Berwick Academy in South Berwick ME where she was a Cheerleader. Sewing was her passion and she dreamed of being a designer. She started a local neighborhood 4-H group, and taught sewing which lives on in the students she instructed. She was also with the
front lines in sewing hundreds of masks for soldiers overseas, family members, & all the residents of her home, Maple Suites. Mae was proficient in the first TRS80 computers which she taught to adults and students in the Dover school system. She was also the local Avon lady, and in later years worked tax seasons
for H & R Block. Mae was a proud member of The Daughters of The American Revolution.
She enjoyed camping with her family during the summer, Upon retirement, Mae and Bink spent their summers in Rollinsford, NH and camping throughout New England. The snowbirds wintered in Jensen Beach, FL and (in later years) Amelia Island, FL. They loved to travel in their
Winnebago motorhome exploring the East Coast as they moved between New Hampshire and Florida. They also enjoyed several trips to Europe. After years of traveling, Bink and Mae moved to Maple Suites in Dover, NH.
Mae is survived by her children and their spouses; James & Carol Leslie of Rochester, NH; Sharon Leslie & Harvey E. Couch Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL; Kate Leslie & Donna Marie Currier of Milton Mills, NH; nine grandchildren & their spouses; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 62 years Linwood (Bink) Leslie, her parents Walter and Ethel Robertshaw; her brothers, Mickey (Walter) Robertshaw of Charleston, SC; Robert (Bob) Robertshaw of South Berwick, ME, and her first born daughter Linda Mae Leslie
